Alternatively, immerse yourself in the charm of Arusha with various engaging activities. Today you will go for your first actual game drive, in Arusha National Park! This park close to Arusha is known for its abundance of tropical birds, the presence of the black and white Colobus monkey and some rare albino baboons.
You will probably spot the Colobus monkey and some rare bird species such as the gorgeous Silvery Cheeked Hornbill, and, if you are very lucky, even an albino. The park also has a lake, a few craters, waterfalls, mountains, and beautiful grassy planes.
Today offers the choice to unwind at your hotel and bask in its welcoming hospitality, or embark on a variety of adventures! A delightful option is to visit the enchanting Mount Meru waterfalls.
A brief hike will lead you there, where you can enjoy a rejuvenating swim in the chilly waters beneath the cascades. Tarangire National Park is renowned for its large herds of elephants and abundant giant baobab trees. These remarkable trees, capable of living for centuries, serve as a vital water source for elephants during the dry season, as they possess a unique ability to store water within their trunks.
Additionally, the Tarangire River stands as the sole water source during this arid period, attracting numerous animals. It's not uncommon to witness gatherings of up to 250 elephants alongside a multitude of other wildlife species during this time in Tarangire.
